Law Spotlights Opposition to
VeriChip
Wisconsin's
new law was introduced as Assembly
Bill 290 by Representative
Marlin D. Schneider (D) and
was passed unanimously by both
houses of the Wisconsin State
Legislature. The law makes it
illegal to require an
individual to have a microchip
implant and subjects a
violator to a fine of up to
$10,000 per day...

Verichip
can't get but about 200 people
to voluntarily take their
implanted chips, and most of
those are either employees or
stockholders of the company,
so they have given up, after
investing 12 million dollars
in this effort. They
have now decided to go after
the vulnerable, such as the
elderly in Palm Beach,
Florida. An elderly
facility has agreed to submit
their residents to this guinea
pig experiment.

June
12, 2007:
Tiny computer chips containing
medical information were
implanted in the arms of
people who are caregivers to
victims of Alzheimer's disease
and were attending a
conference last week in West
Palm Beach.
The VeriChip Corp., which is
launching a study with 200
Alzheimer's patient volunteers
later this month, is testing
the effectiveness of its
VeriMed Patient Identification
system.
The company said Monday that
25 additional volunteers,
recruited last week at an
Alzheimer's Community Care
educational conference,
included caregivers whose
medical records would be
available in an emergency. The
chip would also provide
notification that the
caregiver is responsible for
someone unable to care for
themselves.
