An
executive with North Carolina-based
private security contractor Blackwater
USA has joined Republican presidential
candidate Mitt Romney as a senior
adviser, the campaign said Thursday.
Cofer
Black, who was director of the CIA
Counter-terrorism Center at the time of
the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks,
has been vice chairman for two years at
the firm, which specializes in security
and military services. Black also helped
shape President Bush's counterterrorism
policy after the attacks.
"He
has a long and impressive career
dedicated to making America safer and
more secure in the world," Romney
said in a written statement. "Our
country faces a new generation of
challenges, and Black's experience at
the forefront of our nation's
counterterrorism efforts will be a
tremendous asset."
Romney,
a former Massachusetts governor, hired
Black as a senior adviser for
counterterrorism and national security
issues.
Black
helped develop Blackwater USA into a
powerful security firm that has received
hundreds of millions of dollars worth of
government contracts for services in
Iraq. At its 7,000-acre headquarters in
Moyock, Blackwater trains active-duty
military and civilian personnel to
support U.S. government operations at
home and abroad.
The
company, which mostly hires former
military or law enforcement personnel
for its security teams, also wants to
create armies-for-hire. Black said last
year the brigade-size forces could be
hired to stabilize hot spots such as the
Darfur region of Sudan.
Earlier
this year, Black formed a company called
Total Intelligence Solutions, which
compiles private intelligence for
companies. He also serves as CEO of The
Black Group, which provides security for
corporations.
Black
worked in the CIA's Directorate of
Operations for 28 years before moving to
the U.S. Department of State, where he
was the coordinator for counterterrorism
from December 2002 to November 2004.
While there, he helped the Bush
administration build its
counter-terrorism policy.
"Romney
sees clearly the threat in front of us
and will give our military and
intelligence professionals the tools and
leadership they need to ensure that
America remains strong, free and
prosperous," Black said in a
written statement provided by the Romney
campaign.
A
Blackwater spokeswoman did not return a
phone call seeking comment Thursday.

Tax
experts, including one who spent a year researching whether
enough states properly ratified the 16th Amendment – which
authorizes Congress to collect income taxes -- are as
insistent as ever that Americans are not mandated to pay
Uncle Sam a portion of what they earn every year.

"There were enough states … even without Ohio to
complete" the required three-fourths of the states to
ratify the amendment, said the IRS document.
"Furthermore, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the
constitutionality of the income tax laws enacted
subsequent" to the ratification of the amendment.
In his research, however, Benson found that only four states
ratified the amendment "without changing the
wording." He maintains that, constitutionally, states
cannot change words or punctuation when voting to accept or
reject a constitutional amendment.
"The only thing the states can do is accept or reject
the wording (of an amendment) as is," Benson told WND.
"The legislatures of each state cannot change any of
it. Otherwise, we'd have 48 different versions of the
law."
"What is stated [in the IRS document] is a bald-faced
lie," Kidd said.
"Since it was never ratified and we can prove it
wasn’t, then apportionment is still in effect and again,
everything else is moot," she said. The government's
"progressive, unapportioned tax is, and always has
been, unlawful."
Rather than dicker over IRS codes, legal impressions and
court cases, Kidd and other "tax-honesty"
proponents believe the key to discovering the legality of
income tax lies in proving these contentions:
* That the IRS is not an authorized agency of the government
and has no authority to conduct business;
* That the government's jurisdiction is not valid;
* The fraudulent ratification of the 16th Amendment
unlawfully wiped out the apportionment clause of the
Constitution;
* That an individual is, without question, forced to
involuntarily surrender his Fifth Amendment right against
self-incrimination by filing any income tax form under
penalty of perjury.
Another area of concern, Kidd says, is that the courts
themselves can’t even decide, in a universal manner, what
constitutes an income tax or what the income tax really is
-- direct or excise.
"That’s a fact and it creates what is known as a
problem [IRS] document," she said.
Even former IRS commissioners have questioned the legitimacy
of the very agency they serve.

war hero who was popular with the troops. The plotters
felt his good reputation was important to make the
troops feel confident that they were doing the right

president. However, this was a mistake: Butler was
popular with the troops because he identified with
them. That is, he was a man of the people, not the
elite. When the plotters approached General Butler
with their proposal to lead the coup, he pretended to

How
Bush's Grandfather Helped Hitler's Rise to Power
George Bush's grandfather,
the late US senator Prescott Bush,
was a director and
shareholder of companies that profited
from their
involvement with the financial backers of Nazi
Germany.
The Guardian has
obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in
the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott
Bush was a director was involved with the financial
architects of Nazism.
His business dealings,
which continued until his company's assets were seized
in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led
more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages
being brought in Germany against the Bush family by
two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum
of pre-election controversy.

The U.S. government,
under the Trading
with the Enemy Act, ordered the seizure of Nazi
German banking operations in New York City that were
being conducted by Prescott Bush. The U.S. Alien
Property Custodian seized Union Banking Corp.'s stock
shares, all of which were owned by Prescott Bush,
Avrell Harriman, three Nazi executives, and two other
associates of Bush (see sidebar for details).
Allied
aircraft start a four-day battle to smash Axis air
power and gain air superiority over the El Alamein
area in preparation for Montgomery’s long awaited
offensive.
Hitler’s
Angel
Many
of the great houses of American industry and finance
had very dirty hands when it came to dealing with the
Nazis. General Motors, IBM, Standard Oil and many
others have had their sorted dealings with the enemies
of the United States aired in public forums. However,
one criminal has had little exposure – Prescott
Bush, father and grandfather to two occupants of the
Whitehouse.
The
story of Prescott Bush and his association with the
Nazis begins just before the end of World War I with
the dealings of the German industrialist family of
Thyssen. As German hopes for victory sank into the mud
filled trenches of the western front, August Thyssen,
known as the “Rockefeller of the Rhur” opened the
Bank voor Handel en Scheepvaart in Rotterdam, placing
his son Fritz at its head. The bank, being in neutral
Holland, was an excellent place to hide his vast
wealth as the Imperial Germany disintegrated.
Meanwhile, his other son, Heinrich, married into
Hungarian nobility and changed his name to Barron
Thyssen Bornemisza de Kaszon.
